Many more reasons for a winter holiday in Stilfs
The unique environment around Ortler and its ski resorts invites you to numerous special experiences. The entire Ortler region and the Stelvio National Park are ideal for winter hiking, with or without snowshoes. Numerous routes, ranging from easy to challenging, wind through the snow-covered alpine pastures and mountain landscapes. Even in the valley, you can enjoy beautiful hikes through deep snow-covered meadows and forests.
Cross-country skiers can enjoy one of the highest cross-country trails in Europe, our 7-kilometer high-altitude track at nearly 1,900 meters, perfectly groomed for both skating and classic styles, from November to April. In Trafoi, you can take in the views on the 6 km panoramic trail, and night skiing under floodlights is also available.
Ski touring in the Ortler region is especially popular among experienced athletes, as most routes present a real challenge. The appeal, however, lies in the diverse landscapes you get to explore. You can set off on your own or join one of the experienced guides from our alpine schools. We’d be happy to provide more advice on this at the hotel.
Relive your best winter childhood memories with a thrilling toboggan ride! In Trafoi, you can enjoy carefree winter fun on the 4-kilometer toboggan run. After the uphill walk, you'll descend on two runners down the legendary Stelvio Pass Road.
For those with prior sports experience seeking a unique adventure filled with adrenaline, ice climbing at Ortler is the perfect challenge. Climbers tackle frozen waterfalls, ice towers, and walls throughout the Ortler region. The professionals from the alpine school will teach you how to properly handle an ice axe and crampons.
