Our Tour Recommendations
Starting from Prad, the route goes via Lichtenberg to the slightly higher Pinethöfen (1080m) and further along a gravel path to the highest point of the tour, the "Schart" Alm at 1830m. From there, the route, with the mountains of the Ortler group always in view, continues via the Stilfser farms to the Furkelhütte at 2153 m, where you can indulge in a pleasurable break. The route then takes you downhill and back to the hotel.
Experience one of the most spectacular biking experiences in the Alps: the tour over the legendary Stelvio Pass followed by a descent on the Goldsee Trail.
Already at the Stelvio Pass, at over 2,700 meters above sea level, a stunning panorama opens up with a view of the surrounding glacier world. The high alpine scenery already makes the start of this tour an unforgettable experience.
The subsequent Goldsee Trail is one of the absolute highlights in Vinschgau: a flowy, partially challenging single trail with breathtaking views of the Ortler group. The route runs along historical paths and combines nature enjoyment with genuine trail fun.
The path, once created as part of the glacier front of the First World War, is open daily for bikers until 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m.
The crowning achievement for many road cyclists is the road over Passo Stelvio, which leads from South Tyrol either into the Lombard province of Sondrio or over the Umbrail Pass into Switzerland. From there, come back to Trafoi via the historic city of Glorenza. The ascent on the South Tyrolean side overcomes around 1,900 meters in altitude and offers a spectacular view from its 48 hairpin bends. The highest point is at 2,757 meters.
The Via Claudia Augusta was one of the most important Roman roads, leading from Bavaria to the Adriatic Sea. The sections in South Tyrol are now popular bicycle routes in the valley. The mostly paved and relatively flat bike paths are particularly popular with families, including the section that runs through the Vinschgau. With the train and bike ticket, you can board the train along the route at any time and continue your journey.
